More pineapples

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Anime Tosho Con in Rockville Centre last Saturday! Here's a few of my exploratory sketches from the cute pineapple painting that found a home with one of the librarians' fathers.

Also, Worldwide Sketchcrawl #28 is this Saturday July 31st! Check out the forum to find one near you!

Watercolor of the Servette

I really loved the view from Jackie and Colin's apartment and finally got a chance to paint it before we left. Hope you've enjoyed peeking at my travel sketchbooks!

A few photos of the last 2 days in Geneva.

I've been catching up on work since we got back, so I'm relieved that I finally got all the sketches and photos sorted. Hopefully I'll have time soon to finish up my travel comic so I can share that too!

We had a very rainy last 2 days in Geneva, so we went to check out the Museum of Art and History. It was an interesting mix of local archaeological finds and classical art.

Gruyères Part 2

On the 15th we went to the Chateau Museum and the H.R. Giger Museum. So many things to see, so I didn't sketch much. Grue is French for crane and the motifs were everywhere.

Allan naps on the train back to Geneva and we attempt a plan to take a detour at the Lausanne train station for donut-like Berliners that we saw on our way there.

Gruyères part 1

One last sketch of Lausanne that escaped the scanner on the first round.

On June 14th, we continued on by train to Gruyères.

Waiting for our connecting train at the tiny station of Palézieux.

Lausanne, Switzerland

June 14th we took a day trip to Lausanne. A quick sketch of the Notre Dame Cathedral.

We walked all the way down to the little coastal town of Ouchy and I did this watercolor of the hazy day at the waters edge.

Annecy June 11

Allan went to see an anime screening I wasn't interested in so I went on a solo sketchcrawl along the canal. Some birds had built a nest near the boats.

A sketch of le Pont d'Amours (Lover's Bridge) My brush pen was really dying at this point.

Annecy June 10

Watercolored while Allan and I ate sandwiches on a stone semicircle bench behind a church.

From Au Fidele Berger where we had a café break in the afternoon and I ate a giant macaron with a tiny fork. This is another tiny colored pencil drawing.
