Central Park Zoo

Some sketches from the NYC sketchcrawl yesterday. I haven't drawn from life in a few weeks, so these came out pretty well. We had 6 sketchers total and 3 newbies despite the cold. Thanks for coming out everyone!

Sketchcrawl NYC Saturday Dec 9th!

Sorry to post this last minute, but please join us for Sketchcrawl NYC tomorrow! We'll be meeting at 11 am at the Central Park Zoo. (main gate at 64th st and 5th ave.) Admission is $8. We can draw outside until we're freezing and warm up with the penguins and tropical birds!

The zoo closes at 4:30 so from there we may head to the Met museum or maybe a cafe to draw. We'll also grab lunch at some point. Remember to post your sketches from the day at the sketchcrawl forum.

See you sketching!

P.S. There's also a group meeting at 9 am at Bryant Park if you're an early bird!

comic wedding

Last weekend I attended the wedding of my comic friends Raina and Dave. They had asked their artistic friends to contribute to a comic as their wedding favor. I felt weird showing this before their wedding, but here's what I drew for them. They are just about the cutest couple in comics...no wait, there's too many cute comic couples to judge from!

I'm baaack

Good heavens! No, I haven't fallen off the earth, I've merely moved to another borough and haven't had an internet connection for two weeks! I'm busy finishing up some inks for a comic anthology which I will post shortly.

In the meantime, here's a photo I took last week of Tom Sito at B&N promoting his book on the animation unions "Drawing the Line." I'm only on chapter 5, but anyone involved in animation should check this book out.
